A pond is the best feature on a rural property right up until the edge grows shut. Around Redding, Anderson, Palo Cedro and across Shasta County, stock ponds and ranch ponds disappear behind cattails, tules, willows scrub and bank weeds in a couple of missed seasons - access gone, the view gone, and the waterline creeping with growth. Hand work is the only honest way to do this job. Banks are soft, slopes are uneven, and the last thing a pond needs is equipment tearing ruts at the water's edge. Our crew works the margin on foot - cutting the emergent growth, clearing the banks, opening the access points you actually use - with no machine weight anywhere near the water.

Pond-edge growth compounds faster than ground growth - the water feeds it. Cattails and tules march outward from the margin, bank brush closes in from the other side, and within a few seasons the pond is a ring of vegetation with water somewhere in the middle. Stock can't reach it cleanly, you can't fish it, and the growth keeps building material into the margin year after year.
Cutting it back reverses all of that: open water where you want it, clean banks you can walk, access for animals and people, and a pond that looks like an asset again instead of a chore. On working ranches the stock-water angle alone pays for the work.
The water's edge is exactly where careful work matters. We cut the emergent and bank growth with brush cutters and hand tools, working from the bank - no equipment weight compacting soft ground or breaking down the edge. Cut material gets raked and staged clear of the water so it does not end up back in the pond feeding next year's growth.
We are honest about the boundary of the trade, too: this is vegetation work at and above the waterline. In-water aquatic weed treatment - chemicals, harvesters, dredging - is a different discipline, and if your pond's problem is under the surface, we will tell you that on the walk-through instead of selling you the wrong fix.
Like everything that grows here, the shoreline does not stay cut - but it stays manageable. After the first heavy clearing, a once- or twice-a-season maintenance cut holds the edge exactly where you want it, at a fraction of the initial effort. Most pond owners fold it into a standing acreage management schedule and stop thinking about it entirely.

The crew shows up when scheduled, in uniform, and cuts to the scope - on any terrain a boot can reach. Anything unexpected, you hear about immediately, not on the invoice.
We walk the finished ground with you against the written scope, with before-and-after photos documented. The second half of payment is not due until the work is done to your satisfaction.
